Hotels + Accommodations
There’s no hotel block since Asbury Park is a beach town and the Jersey Shore in general is full of hotel and Airbnb options at different price points.
If you’re traveling with a group for multiple nights an Airbnb is probably the cheapest,
but there are at least four hotels in walking distance and a ton of hotels within a 15 minute drive.
(We'll be staying at an Airbnb about a 10 minute walk away from the venue.)
Here’s a list of some of the closest hotels
(they weirdly omit a few of the closest hotels, like The Asbury from this list, but it's a starting point).
Some notes on the hotels that are in close walking distance from the venue (a couple of blocks or less):
-
The Asbury: Starting at around $260/night.
A nice boutique hotel but the rooms have an NYU dorm vibe in that they're very clean but kind of sterile (cement floors + plywood headboard),
but the lobby bar is very cute and there are tons of dogs hanging out.
It is definitely marketed towards millennials.
You can bring up to two pets- they add a $75 cleaning fee (part of that gets donated to an animal rescue).
Donut has pooped in this lobby before and no one batted an eye.
-
The Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel: Starting at around $250/night.
This is an older, more traditional hotel with larger rooms than The Asbury
(it's nice but not marketed as "hip," to give you a sense of the vibe.)
This, The Empress, and Asbury Ocean Club have waterfront views.
They’re pet friendly but a little cagey about their pet policies-
you need to email them first, which I did.
Their email says you can have one pet (a dog up to 50 lbs or cat up to 30 lbs),
but they charge a fee of $100 + $25/day.
My sense is that The Asbury is a better place to stay if you have a dog.
-
The Empress: Starting at $149/night.
Very queer-friendly hotel, but the dance club is open until 3am so not as good for kids or light sleepers.
I haven't stayed there but the sense I get is that the rooms are more dated than the other hotel options.
-
Asbury Ocean Club: Starting at around $325/night.
This is basically gentrification in hotel form- it just opened this summer and it is EXTREMELY BOUGIE.
There's a shameful part of me that wants to stay there at some point.
